the American history of fine craftsmanship. Your coffee roasted, shipped that day, drink it with
others in a couple of days. Hot air coffee roasting makes it
possible by keeping it fresh unlike a drum roaster that bakes the
coffee bean.
In the days of Yesteryear
street vendors yelled to apartment houses, "Vegetables, fruits,
fresh roasted coffee, and tea." With a few tosses raw coffee beans
were shoveled into a bag. Upstairs some of the stoves had a roasting
compartment and your coffee would be roasted, ground, and served.
Serving the dual purposes of feeding the family, enjoying the
intimacy, and off to work you went. Walking on stars.

one consistent difficulty is controlling the airflow and achieving
the right blend. Most coffee roasters aren't going to share their
blend ideas, because its so costly to develop them. Its like a
gambler who finally figured out the table. They (roasters) want to
share in the profits first.
Coffee and
Tea of Yesteryear is the original artisan coffee roaster
in Central New Jersey. Our main product continues to be fine coffee and tea.
We envision no change except that we will become able to sell fresher
products as the year passes.
What we have that is better than 90% of the coffee houses in Monmouth County
and Ocean County are the years in the specialty coffee trade. This
equates to more sophistication of roasts for the palate of Monmouth
County and Ocean County customers. Although home roasters are
encouraged to buy our green beans we hope they may also try our
roasted coffee and see what a commercial machine can do for them.

Roasting is a story of
coffee, tea, and beverages of yesteryear. Its about the heritage and
refinement of products from our ideas. We would like you to consider adding

After roasting coffee on

I can say its
better for the environment, my health, and my communities future rather than the
commercial drum roasters of yesteryear and today.
Coffee roasted
by hot air technology has a bright flavor unlike the baked, flat
taste found in drum roasting technology. Drum roasting hasn't
changed since it began in the late 1800's. It's pretty much a dirty
process. Imagine a shiny new clothes dryer, and essentially that's
the technology.
Our
roasting and blending training includes the 2001 Specialty Coffee Association
"science of coffee roasting courses." Praxis Werke organized and delivered.
Chef school and working in restaurants in the D.C. and San Francisco
area. But that's all in the past. Try our coffee and see if its not
as fresh as we say.
Every one could try to roast coffee for fun.
Begin outdoors and abide by safety rules. Wear goggles and whatever
you do don't roast coffee in the oven or without a fire extinguisher
present. The volatile oils and chemicals that roasting creates need
to be managed by professional care.

won't talk, making drinks from origins they don't know about, and
have hardly traveled walking the streets of an unknown to tourists
side of town. With this knowledge we make a different kind of
product and we were to some degree made into different kinds of
people. People associated with our store will probably never darken
the halls of a chain store. Except for the use of their bathrooms.
Or taking up space to get to the business next door. Arrogance can
be appropriate when you have a history of positive performance, and
we have that history of romancing the bean and tea leaf.
